Emergency Medicine Expert Witness
Dr. Jason W. Wilson, FAAEM is a board certified emergency medicine physician that has treated over 15,000 patients. He serves as associate medical director, research director, and assistant professor of medicine at the University of South Florida, Tampa General Hospital (a level-1 trauma center). He has also worked at small community emergency departments and is licensed to practice in Florida and Maine. Dr. Wilson has given talks and led workshops at national, regional and statewide conferences. He has published and presented emergency medicine research and is involved in pharmaceutical consulting and peer education. Dr. Wilson attended the University of South Florida College of medicine where he also completed his emergency medicine residency training.
Dr. Wilson is available to review emergency medicine medical records for the plaintiff and defense in civil and criminal cases. As a board certified emergency medicine physician, Dr. Wilson is an expert in the full scope of emergency medicine diagnoses including, but not limited to, acute myocardial infarction, stroke, trauma, pulmonary embolism, venous thromboembolism, meningitis, sepsis, toxidromes, and musculoskeletal injuries. In addition, Dr. Wilson can serve as an expert witness in emergent procedures including airway management and intubation, central line placement, cardioversion and resuscitation. He is also able to review medical records relating to EMTALA claims and can provide consultations and didactic training to physicians, hospitals, as well as other medical staff members and institutions regarding EMTALA compliance.
Dr. Wilson will conduct a thorough review of medical records and then discuss the case further with the retaining counsel. Dr. Wilson will assess if there was a deviation from the standard of care and if that deviation led to causation and harm. If requested, Dr. Wilson will write a full report including his opinions of your case. He is available for depositions and trials and has experience doing both in the past. He makes himself readily available to retaining counsel by text, mobile phone, and email.
